Diego Luna scores twice to lead Real Salt Lake to 3-1 victory over expansion side San Diego

San Diego – Diego Luna scored a goal in each half and Real Saltlake handed over the third directly to the FC’s expansion team by defeating the third directly with a 3-1 win on Saturday night.

It was scoreless until the first half stops time.

Luna scored in spectacular fashion to lead Real Saltlake (4-6-0) in the first extra minute. However, five minutes later the Herving “Chuki” Lozano replied to the penalty kick to pull San Diego (1-3-2) even in halftime.

This was the second goal for Lozano in the first season of the league. Anbal Godoy was awarded the PK after the RSL defender Alexandros Cataranis fouled.

San Diego midfielder Jeppe Tierskov’s foul was returned to the real Saltlake Lead by Lunar in the 54th minute after the foul. Lunar has five goals in nine presence this season – his career has three shame.

Defender Sam Junkoa scored seamlessly in the 66th minute for the final advantage. It was Juncoka’s first goal in his first season with the club. Three goals of his five career came in the previous two seasons with FC Dallas.

Rafael Cabral Real Saltlake stopped six shots, which lost four in his last five entrance games.

CJ DOS Santos had two saves in San Diego.

San Diego suffered his first shutout last week after losing 3-0 road to Charlotte FC.

Real Salt Lake travels to play Vancouver Whitups on Saturday. San Diego will host FC Dallas on Saturday.
