New York – According to a federal report published on Friday, more US children died during this flu season than at any time from the swine flu epidemic.
The 216 pediatric mortality reported by the centers of the disease control and prevention center is reported last year 207. It is the highest from the 25-21 H1 N1 Global Flu epidemic.
It is surprising that the flu season is still running is already high in the number given. The 2023-2024 flu season’s final pediatric death list was not counted until autumn.
Dr Shan O’Lari of the American Academy of Pediatrics says, “Now we are now in the numbers, and this is definitely an inherent, and it – when the season is announced and they compile all the data – it is almost confirmed,” Dr. Shan O’alry of the American Academy of Pediatrics says.
There are probably several contributors to the severity of this season, but one of the big ones is less children who get a flu shot, adding the Olleri, a specialist in Colorado pediatric disease.
US children’s flu vaccine rate has dropped from about 5% to 5% this season from 5% to five years ago.
Flu vacancins cannot prevent people from bringing symptoms, but research shows that they are very effective in hospitalization and preventing death, O’Lari says the reduction of vaccines in this season’s fatalities is definitely “playing”.
The season was not only difficult for the kids. CDC officials described it as “extremely serious” and assumed that at least 47 million illnesses this season, 610,000 hospitalized and 26,000 died.
The good news is that the flu indicators are declining since February.
