Houston family party shooting leaves at least 1 dead, 14 wounded

At least one person was shot dead at a Houston party on Sunday morning, police said.

The Houston Police Department started calling shots at 12:30 am in the Block of Cherry Hill in South -East Houston, Assistant Chief Patricia Cantu reported during a news briefing.

The officers arrived at the scene a few minutes later and found that multiple people were injured in various places around a house, he said.

Police said a family party was being held and a disobedient guest was asked to leave the house. It is believed that this person has started shooting, which burns the return of the return from others, said Cantu.

The Houston Fire Department responded and at least one person was confirmed. According to Cantu, multiple people were in serious condition and surgery, who said that some of the victims had taken themselves to the region hospital.

According to CBS Houston’s Affiliate Khoy, Cantu said that many of the scenes were investigating and many of those injured were scattered on various spots around the party that was happening.

“This scene is going on,” said Cantu. “It’s still very complicated. It was chaotic from going here.”

Cantu said police had arrested multiple people but their shooting suspect could not be immediately confirmed when the investigation continued on Sunday morning.
