An aircraft traffic control facility that guides the aircraft at the Newwork Liberty International Airport on Friday morning was subjected to a short radar confrontation on Friday morning, the latest technical disruption in one of the busiest airports in the country.
The Federal Aviation Administration has reported that this conflict occurred just before 4am, and lasted about 90 seconds, affecting the convenience of Philadelphia.
Air traffic control with the airline traffic controller, according to the publicly available recording of the Air Traffic Control contact, referred to the fedex flight pilot about the conflict.
“FedEx 1989, I will remove you here, our scopes are black again,” said the controller. “If you are careful about it, contact your airline and try to get some pressure for them to fix these things”
The pilot replied, “Sorry to hear about that.”
Earlier, ABC reported the protests.
Last week, a similar confrontation, on Monday afternoon, encouraged travel to the airport, leaving the controllers without any way to contact the pilots and to prevent planes from crashing with each other. Several controllers working that afternoon were saddened by the episode and took time, resulting in less than several days of employees, resulting in widespread aircraft delay and cancellation.
This is a developing story. Check again for updates.
