An active shooter was reported on the campus of Florida State University on Thursday, the school reported in a warning.

The warning said, “The police are in the scene or on the way. Continue to take shelter and keep waiting for further instructions,” warning. The university warned the students to lock and stay away from all doors and windows.

The FSU said the police responded to an active shooter call from the student union area, the FSU said.

CBS News Miami says a suspect is in custody.

Multiple people were taken to Talahasi Memorial Health Care Hospital, a hospital spokesman for CBS News. The spokesperson did not clarify if the additional patient was quoting the amount of injury or the liquid situation.

“We are in close combination with emergency responsive and public safety officers. To ensure the patient’s privacy and ensure the right information, we will provide updates as soon as they are available,” Talahasi Memorial Health Care said in a statement.

FSU student Blake Leonard told CBS News Miami that he had heard about 30 bullets. Leonard said he was about 400 feet away from the student union when he heard of the gun battle and running.

Florida Governor Ron Dysntis says state law enforcement responded to the shooting. The Legislative Department of Florida said in a statement that “it is actively involved in the incident on the FSU’s campus, and we will update the public with more information as possible.”

The FBI reports that Jacksonville and Talahasi residential companies are on the scene and are helping local law enforcement partners.

The university advised the students to continue shelter in places and classes and all the events were canceled for the rest of the day.
