Bouanga converts late penalty to pull LAFC into 3-3 draw with Portland

Portland, Ore. – Dennis Bounga converted a penalty kick in the 90th minute and made the LAFC 3-1 against Portland Timber on Saturday night.

Philip Mora scored two goals for the Timber, who were unbeaten in their last six matches. Portland did not lose in Nashville since March 7.

Olivia Girud scored the first goal in the league for the LAFC. Los Angeles coach Steve Cherundolo was given a red card in the second half.

On Friday, Cherundolo announced that he was leaving the team after the 2025 season. In his fourth season with the LAFC, he said he was planning to return to Germany with his family, where he spent his career. Cherundolo Los Angeles won the MLS Cup title in 2022.

The LAFC appeared to score in the second minute of the game but it was called offside. Mora moved in the ninth minute of Portland when Mora was converted to a penalty kick after Fouling in the Lafser goalkeeper Hugo Loris box.

After a few moments, another LAFC target was canceled by an offside call.

The Timblers in the 42nd minute make Santiago Moreno’s target 2-0 to avoid Loris and defender Sergie Palencia from the center of the box.

The LAFC pulls a back before half -time with the first MLS goal from the free kick from the outside of the penalty region. He then walked the French field and pointed to the sky with both hands.

The LAFC tied the match to David Martinez in the 622nd minute, but Mora quickly replied with a header that placed Portland again at 645th.

Jonathan Rodriguez debuted for Timber as an alternative to the second half. He was left aside with a knee injury.
