  • Picking a team from bars to beam and hoping for 10s: Fantasy leagues in gymnastics are a thing

Washington – Tomas Batman was busy operating college fantasy teams in 12 different leagues this year, a lineup that included secret weapons and one and right. Five of them won it.

They were not the team that was stocking with NFL or NBA players. All 12 college gymnasts were made up of gymnasts, and Chicago -based wedding and family therapists are a member of a passionate and growing fan base that channels their sports in the fantasy leagues.

Batman said, “The game is such a great way to know a bit.” “When I started the journey, I got these lists from College Jim News and picked up athletes that I didn’t really know, so I got to know the teams I like and then I wanted to make a draft it is a great way to increase the sports audience.”

Interest in gymnastics is at the top of the Tradition with the Olympic cycle, but the online global community for “Gymartnet”-the online global community-a one-year game. At the college level, names, images and comparative deals have also increased in fantasy leagues with large growth, viewership and streaming availability.

This year, more than 1,5 female college gymnastics fans have found their way to gymals and gymnastics fantasy platforms – all in the past few years.

Jimmeetics, which was launched before the 2022 collegiate season, regularly runs in the season and has a postsation bracket competition. In the second year of the gymnasick, the NCAA offers weekly fantasy matchups, including the NCAA Postsation and the Elite.

The two leagues take some different approaches. Participants of the gymnastics drafted separate athletes for their team at the beginning of the season and set the lineup for each week of the competition. Jimcustic drafted a salary cap-style, so that a certain number of athletes are valuable for “gym ruble”. Participants choose athletes until their rooster is filled while under the cap.

Both are not the first platform of their type: Both founder, Kristen Watkins, a former college gymnast and self-educated programmer who created college fantasy gymnastics for decades and continued as inspiration for the 2020 season.

MIT participated for the gymnastics team until it was cut after the Watkins 20 seasons, during a period where other college gymnastics programs were cut or threatened to decrease. She said the creation of the Fantasy League was inspired in a part because she wanted to see if women could have more interest in gymnastics.

Next leagues are involved in the same concept.

“This is the key to what we do:” This is very specific to gymnastics fans, “said Jessica O’Berne, the creator of the popular Gytty Podcast and co-founder of the same name. “We use the lingo of gymnastics it is it so niche and so specific ″

Jimmeetics audience is similarly “Diahard Gymnastics Fan,” Lauren Pickens, Co-Creator. It includes former athletes. The championship winning Michigan team was remembered from the recently graduated members who had just missed the Gyalitics Draft Deadline but wanted to keep the teams together. (He has helped them join.)

Like all fantasy team managers who care about the results, Batman and other participants are full of their hands. Weekly, participants set the lineup across four apparatus – vault, uneven bar, balance beam and floor practice to maximize the total number of points in their team score. The injury to the weekend or the struggles is the reasons for roster change.

Buttman joined Jimmelitics with friends who had gymnast at the University of Michigan in 2022. He named the secret weapon after the southeast conference, whose member school LSU repeated the NCAA Championship in Texas this week. One and Dune carry the title of LSU gymnast and popular dominant Olivia Dun – and the name worked in a league where each team can include only one athlete in each college.

As gymocastic and gymnlitics have closed, their makers have come up with these diarrhea fans and friends who are less familiar with the sport.

“We got a lot of emails from people, my notable others have done fantasy basketball or fantasy football and because there is a fantasy gymnastics, they wanted to connect me and my emotions so they joined a league,” Gytty COO also said Steve Cooper. “And now they are screaming on TV like me.”

According to Fantasy Sports & Gaming Association, the number of Americans over 21 years of age from the Gaming Association, Fantasy Sports increased by about 5% between 2017 and 2022. It has been much stronger for Gyalitics, which launched the first season with a thousand teams, and according to co-founder Yarden Tamir, there were about 7,000 teams across 55 countries this season; And for gymnastics, which have seen more than 10% growth in his first and second season per cooo.

According to FSGA data, the participation of the overall fantasy sports is about 2: 1 ratio, both at the ratio of the ratio, both at the gymnastics and the gymnastic founder assumed that their participants were more gender balanced.

Multiple fantasy gymnastics participants and founders have referred to 2021 and 2022 the collegiate season as a turning point. These seasons began to be able to cash the Olympic gymnasts of college athletes after the delayed Tokyo Games and the Supreme Court decision of the 20212221221, and to retain their NCAA qualifications.

Except for Simone Biles, every member of the medalist tokyo team, including alternatives, went to compete at the NCAA.

“The Olympics are so funny but it is hard to follow the elite athletes regularly because they often compete only three or four times every year,” said Batman. NCAA Gymnastics “Very fun and it’s such an accessible format” “

Accessibility has also increased with the jumping on streaming networks. According to ESPN, the three most visible gymnastic telecasts were three recent national championships. In 2022, ESPN and approved platforms held 40 meetings across five platforms; After the championship this year, it will meet more than 60 across eight.

“Fox bought this year. ESPN is doing a gamed-style show to lead their broadcast,” College Jim News Managing Editor Brandis Hefner and a fantasy player said. “Gymnastic fans had a great way to help create the game given to this option.”

Not without the challenge of running the custom fantasy league. League officials pointing to the challenges with the details of the trial and the challenges, including data availability and inconsistency information in the regions.

Both gymlitics and gymnastics have achieved it around it by gaining devotion among their participants, basically crowded score to enter their databases. While improved on both sides, the founders of the Fantasy League expressed optimism when the institutional and platform improved.

Tamir said, “We have a ton of smaller features that we want to add the environment more automatically and make it easier and easier.” “If you don’t know a real person who uses it is a huge win, but when thousands of users are using it on a daily basis, it is the wild we just make that tent even bigger.”

  • Fake injury rule approved. If medical staff tends to player after ball is spotted, timeout charged

The NCAA Play Rule has given final approval to a rules designed to discourage injuries to the Overseas Panel panel games, the NCAA has announced on Thursday.

At the beginning of this season, if a player goes down the field to evaluate a player with apparent injury to a player after the ball is marked for the next game, the team’s team will be charged a deadline. If the team’s deadline is not left, the fine of the 5-5-5 delay-game will be evaluated.

Sometimes the incidents of injury to the coach’s direction became a strategic defense as a strategy to slow down the Tempo crime or to avoid delay-game penalties for a crime or to get an additional time limit.

The NCAA Football Rules Committee was concerned about being injured for several years. Before the 2021 season, a structure was installed that allowed a postgame video related to the questionable activity associated with injury to a school or conference. If it is determined that a player duplicates an injury to handle the rules, the offending team conference was notified for possible discipline action.

Changes in Overtime Timeout were also approved. Starting with the third overtime, each team will have a deadline for the game period. Previously, the parties were allotted a time limit for each overtime. Starting from the third overtime, the teams optionally running 2-point plays until the winner’s decision.

If a video review is announced, the verdict will change. The referee will simply say that the call on the field is “support” or “upside down”. “Confirm” and “Stand” terms will not be used.

There were also several tweets for kicking and pont formations. An offensive player will not be allowed to qualify as a screaming kick in the straight line of the Snap or in the snapper frame of the Snap. If a team is not in the creammage kick formation, he must have the number of 50 by 50 in the screamage line of five players. Extra, if the snake is at the end of the line by forming the snake, the snime Kick will lose protection and opponents can line a player on Sneper.

If a player in the Kick Off-Return team creates a “T” signal with its weapons during the kick, the team leaves the right to return the kick and the drama will be dead when the drama is dead.

No player can call protective signals that mimic the sound or cadence of offensive signals. The defensive terms will be reserved for the players next to the “Move” and “stem” balls and cannot be used by crime.

After two minutes between both half, if there are 12 or more players in the defense field and all players take part in the drama, officials will handle a 5-yage fine. The offensive team will have the option to reset the game clock at the beginning of the game. If the twelfth player is trying to leave the field and has no effect on the drama, the defensive team will be punished 5 yards without any consistency on the game watch.

Also, the coach-to-player communications implemented for the football bowle subdivision will be allowed last year at the Football Championship subdivision.

  • QB Cam Ward of Miami is the Titans’ likely pick at No. 1 overall in the NFL draft

Nashville, Ten. – Tennessie Titans need a quarterback, overall picking number 1 and turning each stone in offseason, rewatch the tape, and spent to study Miami’s Cam Word as much as possible.

Yes, they also closely viewed Shediur Sanders, wide receivers and defensive back travis Hunters and Edge Rashar Abdul Carter.

Not to sign one, but two travelemen have definitely created the name of the ward as one of the cards to the Titan Commissioner Roger Judole to allow the NFL draft on the first night of April 24 on Green Bay.

If that is not the case, Tennessee has done our best to generate a trade market, needing more draft to fill the roster holes after the three direct losing season. The new general manager Mike Borgonji says he received a call about overall selection of number 1, but the Titans need a “big way” to make a contract.

Tennessee needed a quarterback in a desperately, especially in 2027, with the opening of their new stadium in 2027, and may win and win.

This franchise has shakes Vince Young (Overall in 2006), Jack Locker (No. 8 in 2011) and Marcus Marioota (No. 2 in 2015) on a quarter of the quarterbacks of the first round. The Titans had traded from the first peak in the 21st 2016 two weeks before the draft because they had Marioa already.

Young and Marioa each lasted five seasons. The locker retired after four seasons. Malik Willis, whose Titans made in the third round in 2022, were traded last year, and Will Levis, the first GM, made the first -year coach Brian Calhan Bench last season.

With the signing of Veterans Brandon Allen and Team Boyle in March, Levis Tennessee seems to be associated with eight draft selection and the trade top is needed to leave a large hole in the opening lineup. That is why Kalahan said they were doing everything possible to evaluate quarterbacks. It would be better to pick up more for a team with only two in the first 35 pick and nothing in the third round.

    Quarterback to a possible franchise?

“If you think they are that good and they are that kind of player, these guys to me, priceless,” Kalahan told the NFL owners’ spring meeting on March 31. “If you think that they think of the quarterbacks that caliber is no cost.”

Titans met with both Colorado Word and Sanders before the NFL conversation began just before opening the new league year. The team sent all the original front office staff to Word’s Pro Day in Miami on March 25 and planned another visit before the draft. Team officials also checked Sanders and Hunter on Colorado Pro Day.

After the solo season in Miami, the ward is fourth in favor of the Hizman Trophy, where he completed 67.2% of his passes for 4,313 yards with the FBS-Ser and Program-record 39 Touchdown Pass. He also had only seven obstacles. The yard to achieve his passage was a career best 9.5 yards. This is after two seasons in the Washington State where he threw more gauze and TDS every season and dropped to seven in 2022 in 2022.

6 feet -2, 219 £ 219 made the best effort to make his case on Miami Pro Day. He escaped a pass, and then told the top officials of the Titans, “I am looking at it today … I have confirmed that they have heard me.”

Last season, Titans remained a great need after the release of the Titans’ salary cap place with nine sacks to create a place of pay cap. Cornerback Chidob Aujio was so. The wide receiver’s depth behind Calvin Ridley remains as a big question. Demonstration of defensive backs is always in demand.

The Titans may wait to add the aggressive lineman after Dan Moore signs, with Jesse Latham his rookie year is expected to take on the left to deal with the left. They also signed a one -year contract in a one -year agreement, hoping to improve the aggressive line after allowing 12 sacks in the Tennessee 2021 season. Only Houston, Seattle, Cleveland and Chicago have released more.

Ward. At this point, he is most meaningful for the quarterback-needed team.

Miniapolis – Tie France joined the New York Mates on Wednesday to win the Minnesota Twins 3-1, who rallied with three runs for three runs.

In the second place as an automatic runner, the fast by quickly by Bookston, France Smacked 1-1 pitch from the Reid Garrett (0-1), with which Tyron did not bounce Taylor to the center of the center without giving any chance to get the glove.

Bookston, Harrison Badr and Willie Castro’s The Twins (-12-12) had RBI single, who won their second series in six sets this season.

The first base umpire Hunter Wendelstate had to move to the sixth after hitting the head with a foul ball of Taylor.

Pitt Aloneso and Jesse Winker Griffin Jax hit the RBI doubles to finish the 12-inning scoreless strike for Mets (5-7) in Ashtami (5-7) and tied it with two out units.

To finish the eighth, Badar saved one of the other two runs with the diving catch of Taylor’s Line Drive. Last year, Bader played for Mets on the plate on the plate II.

Griffin Canning got a 3/3 solid innings from Mets Justin Hagenman after calling from the Syrialize in the triple after Griffin Canning.

Castro’s RBI single came in the sixth first after Aloneso’s diving stop and Calls Jose Bat dropped the butt with the Mets failure and thus could not request a review, but the re -played showed the bat in the back of the butt.

  • Justin Rose coping with the ‘torment’ of Masters close call

Hilton Head Island, SC – Justin Rose driving a farther away from Augusta National realized how close he was to win Master’s.

His phone retained the rumor on the way to Hilton Head Island, one after another, they all praised his extraordinary rally with the same message and expressed his trade and condolences to his runner-up.

Rose started seven shots in the final round, very back to think about winning. He made a 20 -foot Birdie Put of 18th for 66 66. He was in the play-off of sudden death. He lost in a great shot of McLear, who hit the Gap Wage for Birdy up to 3 feet.

It was a lot to be processed.

On Wednesday, RBC Heritage said on Wednesday, “I have a lot of positive comments spread from people who have come to the people, so they try to exploit the week,” Rose said on Wednesday at RBC Heritage. “But at the same time, looking at my phone, just hope to have a separate message” “

This is a path that he knows best.

Rose had two shot leads with six holes to play in the 2017 masters when Sergio Garcia-like good friend like McIRRI forced a play-offs and the most impossible rally to defeat Rose in the first extra hole.

In 2017, Rose was defeated that day. He slapped Garcia’s cheek with love, they hugged and then tapped Garcia to the heart. He knew what it meant for a talented Spaniard who played 70 Major before winning.

On Sunday he was equally compassionate, after the end of McLearo that he was happy to be a moment of such a moment’s Grand Slam of his career.

    It still hurts.

He searched the correct word. Rose was proud of how she played the Low score of the final round with 66 66. Of those moments of a Major, he must have poured in a bird in the last hole. There was a lot of things okay. However, there was no green jacket.

“Just sort … don’t know what the right word is,” he said. “Perhaps, was tortured to think about what might happen.”

He joined Ben Hogan as the only player to lose twice to the Masters, and it could hurt Rose’s for a worse because both of his losses were in death. After 12 rounds in the Masters, he now has at least a part of the lead, Jack Niclas (19), Arnold Palmer (18) and Gary Player (12), who won 13 green jackets.

A Major in the US Open and an Olympic gold medal in Rio de Janeiro has 23 wins worldwide. He also has the difference to congratulate the Masters Champion in the 18th Green three times in the last 10 years – Jordan Spieth in 2015, Garcia in 2017, McIllry on Sunday.

When the last time he lost Masters in a play -off, Rose said that it was lasting for about a month. Of course, he made a few boys when he wanted to return from the final round on Sunday. This is true for anyone in any golf tournament. There is still a sting to see someone else win.

Rose will look back at what happened after the 2017 defeat. He won three more times that year, including the title of his second World Golf Championship. The following year he won the Fedex Cup and was the first in the world for the first time.

Rose said, “If I look back at my best golf, in the end of 2017 August ’18 I probably consistently the best golf that I played,” Rose said. “Obviously, I was a little more in the early part of my career, or you could argue more prime.”

Rose, who became a teenager in the 5th, will be 5 years old at the end of July.

“But I can’t see any reason that I can’t be almost the same at this time,” he said. “I’m doing well. I am working hard i

Rose may not help, but may imagine how long the Grand Slam of his career in Quail Holo will take on the PGA Championship next month – he himself wrote for Royal Trun’s Robbie’s lead, which is a loss of Master’s Play Off.

“The last two Major I was right there and was defeated by the world’s top players at the top of their game,” he said.

What does he continue at this stage? He will finish his 28th year as a Pro in July.

It provides moments like Sunday, its thickening, clutch moments. There was Birdy Put in the 18th AHSA. In the Rider Cup in 2023 there was 8 feet of put in the 18th hole that achieved an original half. Last summer was the 18th walk in Royal Trone showing thousands of praise on their legs.

Rose said, “I am close to something fatally good things,”

  • Mexican Baseball League’s recent growth in attendance now rivals soccer clubs

Mexico City – Robinson Can has spent 17 seasons in the Major League Baseball in front of all types of baseball fans, but he thinks there is something special about the Mexican Baseball League’s Diabloos Rosos.

    He is not alone.

The Mexico summer league on Thursday aims to open the 100th season in the 2023 World Baseball Classic to maintain an impressive growth in the presence of the Mexican national team after the end of the Mexican national team, and is already out of the Soccer Club of some first division.

After winning the third place in the 2021 tournament, many casual fans, some of them, were disappointed after the elimination of Mexico national team in the first round of the World Cup in Qatar, in Qatar, and many of them seemed to have been their attention for a long time.

“We are continuing to grow up and this season will not be different,” league president Horacio de la Vega told the Associated Press. “Our growth is related to the fact that we are not only selling baseball, but the whole experience.”

In Mexico City, “Basble experience” occurs at Alfredo Harp Helu Stadium of $ 160 million, a venue that was opened in March 2019 and 20,000 will arrive.

Although the ballpark is smaller than the MLB standard, the environment is like a carnival.

“This is a special city where fans come to the weather in every game it is day or night,” said AP. “As a player, the park supports the baseball that is a big inspiration to see the full park of fans” “

The 32 -year -old Dominican, who appeared in eight All Star Games, played five franchises in the United States, among them New York Yankis. He was the key player to lead Diabloos Rosos in the championship last season and he recently agreed to return to the second.

His career was fully played for the Estrelas Orientals of the Can the Dominican Republic and participated in several Caribbean series, every year, a team played in different countries around Mexico and Central America.

“The environment in Mexico is a bit like the Caribbean series, but there you are playing for your country and this is a short tournament,” said canoe. “Here, it’s a long season and yet the fans are still there every night.”

Las Season, Diabloos Roseos was at the top of the league with 1,695, then Toros D Tizuana (5,3) and Sultanes de Monontre (1,212).

Soccer Club Pachuka (10,713), Santos Torion (9,421), Majatlan (9,522) and Seyadad Juverages (8,980) are the worst presence in the big stadiums. The team with the best presence in the Mexican Soccer League is with Montre 43,544.

“Our owners have a great party despite being rivals on the field. Beyond that they work as allies and how to clean the bathrooms, how to keep better food and even sell beer, all kinds of things are shared.”

There are three Soccer Stadiums in Mexico City: Seyadad de Los Diports, Olympico University and Azteca, but none of them have great benefits. There is no elevator, escalator or even food court. Azteca is currently closed for reforms and may be for their 2026 World Cup.

The same thing happens in most cases of other Liga MX stadiums. The most friendly places are Estadio BBVA and Guadalazara in Montrerei. Both were chosen to host games in the next World Cup.

“We are growing continuously and this is a special season we target 5 million fans in the total presence,” said D La Vega.

After the World Baseball Classic in 2023, 4.734 million fans created the league’s presence record for a season. Last year, the number declined, but only by 93,000 fans.

And fans are getting older too. According to Othon Diaz, the president of Diabloos Rosos, nine years ago, 53% of the team’s fans 55 years of age or older and now 74% of them are under 45. Also, they were average of 3,000 fans per game and now it is up to 11,000.

  • Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo feeling grateful that he’s healthy for the postseason this time around

Milwaki – As well as discussing his excitement about being healthy for the start of the postsation run, Milwaki Box forward Gianis Antatocomo compared himself to a specific action movie star.

“I like to play, how can I say, stressful, stressful situation,” Antatocaumpo said this week, when the box is preparing to open the play -offs in India on Saturday. “I’m like Tom Cruise. Have you ever watched the movies, Tom Cruise movies that he stunts all that? I think he’s got the adrenaline crowd. I like to be there again.”

All posts of Milwaki were lost in the first round of the first round with his absence last year and a year ago-Antetocomo has returned to lead the box with his second career title.

If this is not impossible to make a mission it seems to be impossible.

Box is expected to open the play-offs without Damian Lillard, a seven-time all-NBA watchman who was out of his right calves last month with thrombosis. Boxes are fifth in the Eastern Conference, their lowest play -offs since 2018. BETMGM Sports Sports gives only 37% chance to cross their first round series with fourth-descendant pacers.

Nevertheless, the box believes that they can compete with someone until they are found in antitocomo. They remember how much of the absence of the two-time MVP was felt by losing their 4-2 series last year.

“Let’s tell the truth,” Bucks coach Dock Rivers says. “Take the best player of each team and it hurts them the

30 -year -old Antocoumpo missed the last year’s Indiana series after straining the left calf in the regular season. A year ago, he hit Milwaki’s opening play of the first quarter against Miami and did not return to the action until the top-priced box was finally defeated 3-1.

At the end of last season, Antatocomo said he had to think about changing his offson program or to make another adapt to ensure that he would be healthy for the play -offs. He has now entered the play-offs after leading Milwaki in a series of eight-game wins to stop regular seasons.

“I have adjusted a lot – which I will keep private – but fate certainly plays a role,” said Antetocomo. “You can be misfortune. Going under three games, or under six games, I don’t think that before the play -off of last year, it is unfortunate.

In the entire play-off series, Antochonmpo played for the last time, Boston had a 3-5 Eastern Conference Semifinals in Boston, with a 5.5 point, 3..7 Rebound and 7.1 aid.

A year ago, Antetocoumpo Hypected to the Eastern Conference final with the left knee, the final two games of the Eastern Conference final returned to achieve the final MVP Honors and earned 50 points in a title-shining game against Phoenix Suns.

Now he is back and a new look is leading Roster.

The only players from Milwaki’s 2021 championship team are Antatocoumpo, Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis and Pat Confton. Kyle Kuzma Los Angeles Lakers, who was earned on the trade deadline, was in the Lakers’ Championship squad, but played the last play -off in 2021. Kevin Porter Jr. and Ryan Rolins, whose role was expanded due to Lillard’s health problems, never played in a postsation game.

The absence of Lillard has the responsibility of more ball-handling for antitocompa, who is playing even especially in its higher criteria.

-11-5 forwards are second in scoring in regular season (4.1), sixth (1.3) in rebounding and 5th in support (.5.5). Antatocaonmpo is the only player to average 30 points during the shooting at least 60% from the floor, and he did each of the last two seasons.

Antocomao has helped on an average of 31.8 points, 12 rebounds and 11.8 in the six games he played in this month.

Pacers’ coach Rick Carlisel said, “During this time where the Dem has gone out, he is seeing a series of double teams, so he is only about to develop as a great player,” said Pacers coach Rick Carlisel. “He is mixing with the help, passing the laser, passing the skip cross-court that is very difficult to deal with when you are twice as much, and his shooting is better and better.”

Now he got the chance to try to carry it in the postsison, it is a stage that he missed very much last year.

“The game on the bench is not fun to watch,” said Antatocoumpo. “It’s not fun. Perhaps in 20 years, I can keep a polo or suit – I don’t know what the coaches wear – and I saw it from the bench. But now I’m just happy that I am there and I’m in the heat of the war and I am able to make my hands dirty and help my team win.”

  • NFL teams are no longer shying away from older prospects in the draft

Bo Nix has already been 25 years old. Michael Penix Jr. will be found there in May.

Both quarterbacks were the first round of the last year. They were between the 56 -year -old player of 24 or older in 2024.

    This number was 54 in 2023, 44 in 2022, 16 in 2021 and in 2020 in 19 to 1920.

In recent years, more old potentials have been drafted because Covid -1 has given the epidemic players the option of staying in the extra year. Although the window is finishing, transfer portals and blue deals can keep some players more prolonged at school.

The parties would have turned away from the old possibilities. Scouts and General Managers once considered 24 years of age as a red flag in some cases.

However, the success of boys like Nix and Zeden Daniels, who was 24 years old in the outstanding Rookie Season, shows that experience can help players’ professionals immediately.

Chiefs coach Andy Red says, “I am from the BYU, where the kids go to the mission for years, and so people go: ‘Well, they are older,’” Chief coach Andy Red says. “Okay, then they come and they work pretty well. So, so, if you start taking a career length, career length, there is a cutoff somewhere, but the carriers are not too long. But we see (age).”

Last year, most of the old players selected in the draft were going to the sixth or seventh round. This indicates that teams are more likely to ignore age after the draft.

“It is only unique for the football world where we are in the football world,” said John Sportac, general manager of the Raiders. “You really got the boys with the sixth and seventh years, and so are you going to be a problem with the age of 25- or 26?

“You go to these schools like Georgia and Michigan, Ohio State and they have received a list of 30 boys who can get out of it … … I mean it was like these 10 juniors, perhaps half of them came out. Now it has been a fourth year senior and it adds more time to the work of Scouts.

The number of old players drafted this season will decrease. There are 46 -year -old players who are 23 or older who are worthy of the draft, including 17 who are 24 or older.

Luisville Quarterback Tyler Shaf, who was 26 years old in September, was the oldest player in the Scouting Combine. He spent seven years in three colleges, including Oregon, where he supported Justin Herbert and Texas Tech in 2019.

Tennessee Wide Receiver Bru McCoy, San Jose State Wide -out Nick Nash and Arkansas Receiver Andrew Armstrong were among the 24 -year -old draft potential in this combination.

Parts with the old philosophy of avoiding old players limit their talent pool.

“I think you need to ask yourself sometimes, are you trying to take this guy for 12 years? If you look for it, this is a small percentage,” John Lynch, general manager of 49, says. “Or you are looking for a contract and then hope more? This is an interesting thing it’s it we constantly discuss eoten

College experience for quarterback is the most valuable. Nix and Daniels proved it when they took their teams to the play -offs last year. Meanwhile, Antony Richardson College threw only 393 passes at Colts before he drafted him at number 4 in 2023. He fought to adjust to the NFL level.

The oldest player selected in the draft was Quarterback Chris Wayne. When Panther chose him in the fourth round of the 2000 draft, he was 28 years and 264 days old. Wayne started just 20 games in NFL, with 2-18.

Quarterback Brandon Wideon was the oldest player in the first round. Brown was overall to him in 2002 when he was 28 years old and 195 days old We Wayne and Wideon played minor-league baseball before college football.

Depending on the location of a player and depending on the round, age can be a determining element when choosing a team between two boys.

“When the two players level, even the same grade, you start weighing what they have,” the general manager of the chargers Joe Horties said about the age. “Okay, he is a three -year -old starter and he is a four -year -old starter. Great leader, team captain, these little things give them a push it is not deliberate but you are talking via it and it is shaking that way.”
