Christman thought that a team felt chest pain the day before he died while practicing an ECG.
Okay, the Clark County (Nevada) Coroner’s office announced Thursday that Christman Cardiac died from cardiac arrhythmia, it was an irregular heartbeat and cardiopathy, a disease that affects the muscles of the heart.

Cristman was in Ohio State in two seasons before being transferred to Kentky. He was sitting with a knee injury during the 2023 season and played in a special team in 2024. He was going to play for UNLV in the upcoming 2025 season.
UNLV chief coach Dan Mullen said in a statement at his death, “The heart of our team was broken after hearing Ben’s passing.” “A month ago, Ben made a better program of the rebels from the day of our campus to set foot on our campus. Ben had an easy choice for our leadership committee because he received immediate respect, praise and friendship with all his teammates.
“Our prayers go to his family and those who know him. Ben made the world a better place and he would be missed.”

School President Keith E. Whitfield said that he was “incredibly sorry” to hear about Christman’s death.
“It is rarely said that at such a young age, the pain of losing our university family members can be reduced and my heart is broken for those who knew and loved him,” he said. “For UNLV, our sincere condolences are with Ben’s family, friends, loved ones and teammates in this very difficult time.”
