Corbeanu’s first MLS goal, Johnson’s 6 saves help Toronto beat Real Salt Lake 1-0

Sandy, Outa – Theo Karbanu scored the first MLS goal in the ninth minute on Saturday night to snap the Eight-Game Winless Strike to defeat Toronto FCs by Real Saltlake 3-1 and opened the season.

Korbianu settled Hidalgo in Salt Lake near the Penalty Arc, cut off a defender and turned a shot from the inside of the penalty region, which made it back inside the post to make it 1-0.

Diego Luna was shown a straight red card in the 61st minute for violent behavior and Saltlake (1-6-5) played one by the rest of the way.

Shan Johnson, who saved six for Toronto (3-5-6), has three shutouts from behind and three in the last four games.

Real Salt Lake was occupied by 61% and Toronto was on the target 23-2, 6-1.
