Saint-Malo, France- Four-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka has claimed his first WA title since the victory in the 2021 Australian Open-and on its seemingly worst surface.
Osaka defeated Juvan-1-5, 7-6 Sundays on the L ‘Open 35D Saint-Malo-a WA 125 tournament-and Clay protected its first trophy.
It was also the first WA of the Japanese player since he became a mother in July 2021, and returned to tennis early next year.
Written on Osaka X, “My first trophy to win my first trophy that I thought was the worst of me,” it could win my first trophy.
“Thanks for everyone who is with me on this ride, I know it’s turbulent but it’s really fun and I’m grateful.”
The former WTA rankings on Monday will be the number 48 in the world.
Osaka has two Australian Open and two US Open Crown Hard Court, but the French Open has a bad record and the Kadamati-Court Tournament came out in 2021 before the second round to take mental health breaks.
The 2 27-year-old clay-court season began with a defeat in the first round of the Madrid Open last month.
The French Open begins on May 25.
