The US Health and Human Services Department (HHS) on Thursday released a wide review of the best practice for children and adolescents, including gender dysfuria.
The report, titled ‘Pediatric Sex Dysfuria: Proof and Best Practice Review’, was published by the Assistant Secretary of the Health and Office of Population Affairs Office.
“This review, which is informed by the proof-based drug method, expressed serious concern about treatment intervention, such as adolescent blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgery, which children and adolescents’ attempt to remove their sexuality,” said a press notice of HHS.

This type of “gender-synthetic” treatment is recommended by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WLPATH).

The report highlights the risk -related evidence related to gender treatment, including irreversible infertility, sexual dysfunction, reduction of bone density, adverse cognitive effects, cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders, mental illness, surgical complications and impulse.
It quotes “very weak proof of convenience”.

Writers also questioned the ethics around the treatment intervention for children and adolescents, including gender dysfuria.
“HHS believes that treatment in this debate should be central to the morality,” the notice said.
