General Motors recalls 597,630 of its full -sized US trucks and SUVs because vehicle V8 engines can fail without caution by increasing the risk of crash.

Production defects on the connecting rod and/or crankshoft engine components “may cause engine damage and engine failure” according to the documents posted on Tuesday in the National Highway Traffic Protection Administration. No alert mark is listed.

The recovery came after the US auto security regulators investigated after reporting the engine failure of GM vehicles, including the best -selling Sylvirado. In January, the NHTSA reported that it was investigating approximately 877,710 vehicles after receiving 39 complaints from GM vehicle users equipped with L 87 V8 engine.

GM creates L87 6-liter V8 engines on its assembly sites in Tonwanda, New York; Spring Hill, Tennessee; And St. Catherins, Ontario.

The recovery includes the following V8-Engine models:

  • 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV;
  • Chevrolet Silveredo 1500, suburb and taho;
  • GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon and Yukon XL

To solve the problem, dealers will inspect the engine for free repair or replacement, recover GM. The owner’s notification letters will be mail on June 9, 2025.
