Lou Lamoriello is not returning as New York Islanders general manager

Lamoriello is out as general manager of the New York Islands, the team said the long -term NHL executive agreement was not being renewed on Tuesday.

Managing partner John Collens will lead the search for the next GM in the Islands.

The 32 -year -old Lamoriello spent the last seven seasons to run their hockey operations with close connection with ownership. Prior to that, he worked as president and GM of New Jersey Devils from 1987-2015, during this time they won the Stanley Cup three times.

In the Builders’ Department, a Hall of Famer, Lamorielo’s old school system, from all things to players and coaches, from banning facial hair to modern hockey, has created a role in modern hockey, and once again played a role in the stagnation of a hugely successful voting rights.
