Two metal detectors recently came across the millennium-old treasure in a small European village.

Metal detectors also found a small fibula, a neck chain with three pendants, and a belt made of oval plates connected by a series ring.

The authorities identified a rectangular silver plate “equipped with multiple solar motifs”, which was probably included in the belt.

The Facebook post mentions that the silver was “worn by prominent members of the Dasian elite on various special occasions”, but the officers are not sure whether the stash is included in a man or a woman.

The total weight of silver was about 1.2 pounds.
“This treasure weighing about 550 grams presents an important symbol of its owner’s social position,” is written in the translated statement.

The treasure is currently under the supervision of the Moore -County Museum, where the patterns will continue to study.
