Officials said Paramedic, a firefighter in Kansas City, was severely stabbed by a patient, who was taken to a local hospital via ambulance, officials said.
28 -year -old Graham Hofman was carrying a patient after a regular medical call from police on Sunday when he was stabbed in his chest, piercing his heart. Despite life -saving efforts, Hofman died of injuries at North Kansas City Hospital.
Kansas City 3 -year -old Shanta Basel was accused of murder and armed criminal action, prosecutors said.

According to the court documents, the emergency crew received a report on a state highway around twelve o’clock on Sunday morning, known as Bossel. The callers were anxious to protect him.
After Basel was located, the police officers requested the EMT for further treatment and were taken to Stu’s Hospital. On the way – around 1:25 in the morning – Basel Hoffman was allegedly stabbed with a knife.
CBS -approved KCTV says Basel was taken into custody and a million was placed in 1 million bonds. When convicted, he faces life imprisonment.
According to the court documents, Basel was arrested on April 27 for alleged attack on plate City Police Officer during separate arrests.
Hoffman has been a member of the Kansas City Fire Department since 2022.
According to KCTV, KCFD Fire Chief Ross Grundison says, “Graham was a lively person who loved life and loved to serve his community.” “He was a great paramedic. He treated his patients with the highest level of skills and compassion.”
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said in a statement that he was “heartbroken” by Hoffman’s death.
“Graham was 20 years old, which was an exceptional life, and he did something that was so effective and important for all of us,” Lucas told reporters, “Lucas told reporters,” Lucas told reporters.
The Fire Safety of Missouri Department has said in a social media post that Hofman was “sympathetic, caring, loving and his colleague firearms and academy classmates as a leader outside the job.”
