Tokyo – The new US ambassador to Japan came to Tokyo on Friday that he was hopeful that his country and its original Asian allies would reach an agreement on their ongoing tariff.
George Glass, a prominent businessman known for his background in Finance, Investment Banking and Technology, is discussing the customs system of President Donald Trump, the United States and Japan, which has expressed global concern about their impact on economics and global trade.
“I am extremely optimistic … an agreement will be completed,” Glass told reporters after landing at Tokyo’s Haynda International Airport.
In Washington, the two countries arrived a day after their first -round tariff discussions, where both sides agreed to try to reach an agreement as soon as possible and to hold a second round of meetings later this month.
Trump participated in the meeting with the Japanese delegation led by the Economic Revolution Minister Raosai Akazawa at the White House, along with his top economic adviser Treasury Secretary Scott Besent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik.

Glass said he was confident that an agreement could be reached because both Japan and the United States were in the “best and brilliant” officials and Trump was personally involved in the discussion and called them its top priority.
