Homeland Security Secretary Christie Nom defends the Trump administration’s crackdown on Monday against the unregistered immigrants in a significant reduction of illegal crossing on the US-Mexico border.
“If you talk to all these agents who have come here for years, they say that the difference between the night and the day from where we were a year ago, they were illegal and people were impressed because they knew that they would be released in the United States without any consequences,” Nom told CBS News on the US-Mexico border.
Customs and border protection say that the records of illegal border crossings have come down to the lowest level in March, only 7,200 under fear. According to the agency, it was a decrease of 95% from a year ago.
