Pierce made his bet on Live TV, but some of Celtics fans probably thought they would make another game as they did in Game 1. However, they were ice-cold from the field again, shooting 25% from the 3-point range.

Worse, Celtics have not transformed a basket from the field for the fourth quarter’s final 8:40, allowing Nix to enter again on Monday night.

Zalen Brunson created two clutches free throws that gave a point to New York, and Mikal Bridge, who earned 5 points in the fourth quarter alone to assist Nix’s return, blocked Jason Tatum Pass on Monday night when the ball was dropped from Brown.
