The US Geological Survey reported around 9am local time, about 30 miles south of Knoxville, about 13 miles south of Greenback, about 13 miles from Tennessee’s greenback.
Residents of Atlanta and some parts of West North Carolina have said that social media is feeling trembling.

The USGS initially reported the earthquake before extending the magnitude of 3.5 to 4.1.
There was no immediate report of significant damage or injury.
The USGS Associated Press has informed that in the first hour after the earthquake it received more than 23,000 reports from the public.
The Jason Pack was still in the bed outside of Knoxville when he felt the walls trembling and heard a camouflage that was loud enough to wake up his family and start snatching the dog.
“In Eastern Tennessee, you are accustomed to tornadoes and floods, these types of things,” said the pack. “It is unusual to be an earthquake.”
Pack has earlier gained vibration experience, though it is probably the most powerful in Tennessee.
“Although it was a small, it was a good reminder – what would you do if it was a big earthquake? What would you do? Drop, cover and if you are inside,” Pack, a retired FBI agent who now works on the crisis communication. “If you are outside the buildings stay clean” ”
Gabriella Riley was making Walls with her husband when they felt the jerk of their entire home in Brusselton, Georgia, north -east of Atlanta.
“Our ceiling fan began to tremble for about 10 seconds,” he said. “I thought a giant aircraft flew right to the right, but my husband said, ‘No, it was definitely an earthquake!”
According to the USGS, there is a 5% chance of 4 or more aftermins next week.
The earthquake in this region is not uncommon. The Eastern Tennessee Seismic Zone is one of the southeast active and extends across some parts of Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.
Two tremors hit on December 2018The One was a 4.4 magnitude earthquake that centered on the Tennessee decatur south of Knoxville. It shook the houses away like Atlanta.
Another earthquake was hit with a dose of 3.0.1. Its center was about two miles (four kilometers) southeast of the mascot near Knoxville. It was also felt in some parts of Georgia, Kentucky and North Carolina.
